PLACING AND ADDITIONAL LISTING

Application has today been made for 3,125,000 new ordinary shares in Tertiary Minerals plc ("the Company") to be admitted to trading on AIM. These shares are being issued pursuant to a placing for cash at 8p per share to raise £250,000 (before expenses) for working capital. Dealings in the new shares are expected to commence on Friday 9th May 2003.

The shares were placed by W.H. Ireland Limited, the Company's Broker, principally with institutional clients.
